  1. 3/4 cup 148g / 5 1/5oz White sugar

  2. 1/4 lb 113g / 4oz Butter or margarine

  3. 1/2 cup 80g / 2.8oz Brown sugar

  4. 1/2 cup 118ml Milk

  5. 3 tablespoons 45ml Cornstarch

  6. 2 Eggs - separated

  7. 1 teaspoon 5ml Vanilla

  8. 1 Unbaked pastry shell

  9. 1 teaspoon 5ml Nutmeg

  1. Recipe Instructions Mix sugars and cornstarch, add milk and cook a little. Add butter and egg yolks and bring to a good boil. Remove from fire and add beaten egg whites, vanilla and nutmeg. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake at 325Funtil firm and brown, about 30-35 minutes. Mrs. Harold T. Cook says, "This is an old family recipe and guests are always puzzled as to what is in it.
