  1. 1 small watermelon (8 to 10 pounds)

  2. 1/4 cup sugar

  3. 1 cup white rum

  4. 1 cup blackberry liqueur

  5. 1 quart freshly squeezed lemon juice (from 24 to 30 Lemon:lemons)

  1. Cut the watermelon into 2-inch cubes. Place the cubes in a colander set inside a bowl and sprinkle with the sugar. Stir the watermelon for a minute to extract the juice. You will get anywhere from 1 to 3 cups of juice, depending on ripeness. Pour the rum, blackberry liqueur, lemon juice, and watermelon juice in a large pitcher. Add 1 cup of the syrup and stir well. Taste the lemonade and add more syrup or water to taste. Pour over ice in an iced tea or cooler glass, garnish with a few blackberries and a mint leaf, and serve.
