  2. 2 cup flour

  3. 1/2 cup wheat germ

  4. 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  5. 1/2 teaspoon salt, optional

  6. 1 cup softened butter

  7. 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar

  8. 3/4 cup sugar

  9. 2 eggs

  10. 1 teaspoon vanilla

  11. 6 ounces chocolate chips

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

  2. In a mixing bowl add flour, wheat germ, baking soda and salt. Mix well.

  3. In another bowl blend together butter and sugars until light and fluffy.

  4. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix well.

  5. Gradually add the flour mixture. Mix well.

  6. Stir in the chocolate chips.

  7. Spread into 15 x 10 inch jelly roll pan.

  8. Bake 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown.

  9. Cool on wire rack.

  10. Cut into bars.
