  1. 2 tablespoons 30ml Olive oil - divided

  2. 1 Chicken - (2 to 3 lbs) - cut into pieces

  3. 1/2 cup 31g / 1.1oz Finely-chopped onion

  4. 1/2 cup 73g / 2.6oz Finely-chopped green pepper

  5. 1 cup 93g / 3 1/3oz Garlic clove - minced (small)

  6. 1/4 cup 23g / 0.8oz Slivered almonds

  7. 1/4 cup 40g / 1.4oz Raisins

  8. 1 1/2 tablespoons 22ml Toasted sesame seeds

  9. 1/2 cup 118ml Chicken broth - (to 1 cup)

  10. 1 Tomato sauce - (8 oz)

  11. 1 1/2 oz 42g Unsweetened chocolate

  12. 1 teaspoon 5ml Tabasco pepper sauce

  13. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Ground cinnamon

  14. 1/4 teaspoon 1 1/3ml Ground allspice

  1. Recipe Instructions Heat 1 tablespoon oil in large skillet, and brown chicken pieces over medium-high heat. Remove and set aside. Add remaining tablespoon of oil to skillet, and saute onion, pepper and garlic 3 to 5 minutes. In food processor or blender, finely grind almonds, raisins and sesame seeds to paste. Add mixture to vegetables, along with 1/2 cup of broth, tomato sauce, chocolate, Tabasco sauce, cinnamon and allspice. Cook, stirring, until chocolate melts. Return chicken to skillet, coating pieces well with sauce. If sauce is too thick, add a little more broth, about 1/2 cup. Cover and simmer over low heat 30 to 40 minutes or until chicken is cooked through. This recipe yields 4 servings.
