  1. 2 lb Beef round steak*

  2. 1/2 c Flour

  3. 1 tb Curry powder

  4. 2 Garlic cloves; minced

  5. 1 c Raisins

  6. 2 Apples;peeled, cored; sliced

  7. 1 c Diced onion

  8. 2 ts Salt

  9. 1/2 ts Pepper

  10. 1 cn Beef broth (14 oz)

  11. 2 Apples**

  12. 1 Fluffy rice

  1. * or lean stewing beef, cut into 1-1/2-inch cubes ** unpeeled, cored, and finely chopped.

  2. Wipe beef well.

  3. Mix flour and curry powder.

  4. Coat meat cubes with flour mixture.

  5. Place meat in crock-pot.

  6. Add garlic, raisins, sliced apples, onion, salt and pepper.

  7. Pour in broth and stir to blend.

  8. Cover and cook on LOW setting for 8 to 10 hours or until meat is tender.

  9. Before serving, stir in additional curry powder to taste (up to 1 tablespoon) and chopped apples.

  10. Serve over hot rice.

  11. to 8 servings (about 2-1/2 quarts) NOTE: Three pounds cubed lean lamb may be substituted for the beef.
