  1. Banana Bliss

  2. 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon

  3. 1/2 teaspoon ground anise seed

  4. 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

  5. 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

  6. 1/2 teaspoon salt

  7. 4 large bananas

  8. 1/2 cup pecans, halves or chopped

  9. 1/2 cup water

  10. 1/2 pound (2 sticks) unsalted butter

  11. 1 cup lightly packed dark brown sugar

  12. 1 teaspoon vanilla

  13. 2 tablespoons banana liqueur

  14. 2 tablespoons Irish cream liqueur

  15. 1 tablespoon Cognac

  16. 1 teaspoon dark sesame oil

  17. Vanilla ice cream

  18. Combine the seasoning mix ingredients in a small bowl.

  19. Peel the bananas and cut them into diagonal slices about 1/2-inch

  20. thick. Set aside. In a small nonstick skillet over medium heat,

  21. roast the pecans, stirring constantly, until they begin to darken

  22. and give off a rich toasted aroma. Remove from the heat and set

  23. aside. In a 10-inch skillet whisk together the water, butter, and sugar. When the butter melts, add the seasoning mix and bring to

  24. a boil, whisking frequently. Whisk in the remaining ingredients,

  25. then add the reserved bananas and pecans. Combine to cook, stirring

  26. gently, for 4 minutes. Remove from the heat and serve warm with

  27. vanilla ice cream.
