  2. BLACKBERRY MINT SORBET

  6. 1 c Sugar

  7. 1 c Water

  8. 1 c Fresh mint leaves

  9. 4 c Blackberries or dewberries

  10. 1 c Red Burgundy wine

  11. Lemon juice (opt'l.)

  12. Additional berries

  14. In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, water and mint. Bring to a boil, then simmer over medium heat,

  15. stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes to make a

  16. mint-flavored simple syrup. Strain, discarding mint

  17. leaves, and cool. In a food processor, coarsely puree

  18. the berries. Turn into a bowl and stir in the wine and mint syrup. Taste and add lemon juice if you prefer a

  19. tarter flavor. Pour the liquid into an ice cream maker

  20. and freeze according to manufacturer's directions

  21. until firm. Garnish with additional berries. Yield: 1
