  1. 1 (16 ounce) packagefrozencollard greens or 1 bunch fresh collard greens

  2. 1/2 tablespoon sugar

  3. 1 teaspoon salt

  4. 1/2 cup onion , chopped

  5. 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes , dried

  6. 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  7. 1 teaspoon vinegar

  8. 1 dash liquid smoke

  9. 1 ham hock

  10. 1 cup water

  1. Thaw collard greens if using frozen or rinse if using fresh.

  2. Combine all ingredients in a medium sized sauce pan. Cook over low heat for about 45 minutes.

  3. Discard ham hock.

  4. Serve with salt, pepper, and Tabasco sauce to taste. ?
