  1. HOT SPINACH-CHEESE DIP

  2. 2 (10 oz.) pkgs. frozen chopped spinach

  3. 1/4 cup butter or margarine

  4. 2 tbsp. all-purpose flour

  5. 1/2 cup evaporated milk

  6. 1/2 tsp pepper

  7. 3/4 tsp garlic powder

  8. 3/4 tsp celery salt

  9. 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

  10. 2 tbsp. diced onion

  11. 6 oz jalapeno cheese, cubed

  12. 1/2 cup soft bread crumbs

  13. 1 tsp. butter or margarine, melted

  14. Cook spinach according to package directions, omitting salt. Drain

  15. 1/2 cup liquid; set aside. Melt

  16. 1/4 cup

  17. butter in a saucepan over low heat; add flour, stirring until

  18. smooth. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Add reserved spinach

  19. liquid, milk and next 6 ingredients, stirring until cheese melts.

  20. Spoon into a lightly greased 1 1/2 quart casserole. Combine bread

  21. crumbs and 1 teaspoon butter; sprinkle over spinach mixture. Bake

  22. 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Serve

  23. hot with tortilla chips, crackers or vegetables.

  24. Yield: About 4 1/2 cups.
