  1. 3 cups 711ml Diagonally-sliced fresh asparagus

  2. 1 teaspoon 5ml Olive oil

  3. 2 tablespoons 30ml Dry white wine

  4. 2 Garlic cloves - slivered

  5. 2 tablespoons 30ml Minced red onion

  6. 1 tablespoon 15ml Lemon juice

  7. Freshly-ground black pepper - to taste

  8. 1 Salt -

  1. Blanch the asparagus for 3 minutes in a pot of boiling water and drain.

  2. Heat the oil and wine in a skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic and onion and saute for 4 minutes. Toss the mixture with the asparagus. Sprinkle lemon juice, pepper, and salt to serve.
