  1. 1 med. clove garlic, crushed

  2. 1/2 c. bourbon

  3. 1/2 c. low salt soy sauce

  4. 2 lbs. flank steak

  5. GARLIC BREAD:

  6. 1 lb. long loaf Italian bread

  7. 1/2 c. butter, melted

  8. 1 lg. clove garlic, crushed

  1. In small glass measure, combine marinade ingredients. Place steak in shallow baking dish. Pour marinade over steak. Cover with plastic wrap. Let stand at room temperature 30 minutes.

  2. Meanwhile slice bread in 1/4 inch thick slices. In small bowl, combine butter and garlic, brush mixture over cut side of bread. Arrange on baking sheet. Set aside.

  3. Drain steak, reserving marinade. Place on rack in broiler pan. Broil 6 inches from heat 5 minutes. Turn steak over. Broil 5 minutes longer. Place steak on carving board. Let stand 10 minutes.

  4. Meanwhile place marinade in small saucepan. Bring to boiling simmer 5 minutes. Brush steak with some hot marinade. Pour remainder into sauceboat.

  5. Broil garlic bread until lightly browned, about 1 minute. Thinly slice steak across the grain. Serve with garlic bread. Pass sauce separately. If desired, garnish with parsley and cherry tomatoes. Makes 18 to 20 appetizer servings
