  1. 2 c sugar

  2. 4 unbeaten egg s

  3. 1/2 tsp salt

  4. 1 1/2 c flour

  5. 1 tsp baking powder

  6. 2 tsp vanilla

  7. 2 c chopped nut s, optional

  1. Preheat oven to 350°. Combine sugar and cocoa in a bowl. Add melted butter and mix well. Stir in eggs. Sift flour, baking soda, and salt. Add dry ingredients and vanilla to batter. Mix until smooth. Fold in nuts. Spread batter in 9 x 13 inch greased pan and bake for 30 minutes, or until an inserted toothpick comes out dry. Cool and cut into squares.
