  1. 4 C water

  2. 1/4 tsp salt

  3. 1 tsp sage , crumbled (1 T fresh sage, chopped fine)

  4. 1/3 C yellow cornmeal

  5. 4 tbsp butter

  6. 1 C parmesan , cheese

  1. Butter a 9 x 12 baking dish. In heavy saucepan bring water with salt to a boil. Add sage and 1/3 C cornmeal, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to low, add remaining cornmeal stirring constantly and cook for one minute. Add 2 T butter , 1/3 C parmesan cheese and mix well. Quickly spread polenta into prepared 9 x 12 baking dish and chill until firm, about 20-30 minutes. Cut chilled polenta into 3 x 3 squares.

  2. Lightly oil grill grate with a paper towel moistened with vegetable oil. Brush polenta square with melted butter. Place polenta on hot grill and grill until polenta is golden. Turn polenta square over and sprinkle parmesan cheese on top. Grill until polenta is golden or cheese is melted.
