  1. 2 C. pumpkin (= 1 can, 15 or 16 oz.)

  2. 2 C. sugar

  3. 2/3 C. butter or margarine, softened

  4. 1/2 C. water

  5. 3 eggs

  6. 2 1/2 C. flour

  7. 2 tsp. baking soda

  8. 1 tsp. salt

  9. 1 tsp. cinnamon

  10. 1/2 tsp. cloves

  11. 1 C. raisins (could substitute chopped dates, but raisins are better)

  12. 1 C. chopped pecans

  13. In a large bowl, combine pumpkin, sugar, butter, water and eggs. Beat 1

  14. minute at medium speed.

  15. Mix dry ingredients together and then add to pumpkin mixture. Beat at medium

  16. speed for about another minute.

  17. Stir in the raisins and pecans.

  18. 2 greased

  19. 8x4 or 9x5 loaf pans.

  20. 325 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes, until toothpick inserted near

  21. center comes out clean.

  22. Cool in pans about 5 minutes and then turn out to finish cooling.
