  1. 1/2 pound blue cheese - Danish preferable

  2. 3/4 cup mayonnaise

  3. 3/4 cup buttermilk

  4. 2 teaspoons water

  5. 1 teaspoon sugar

  6. 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder or minced garlic

  1. Place blue cheese in a bowl.

  2. Mash with a fork until a smooth paste is formed.

  3. If you prefer a chunkier dressing leave a few chunks in.

  4. Blend in mayonnaise until cheese and mayonnaise are well mixed together.

  5. Stir in the buttermilk and water.

  6. Blend well.

  7. Add sugar, garlic powder, and salt and pepper to taste.

  8. For best results, serve immediately.

  9. If you refrigerate the dressing it will deepen the flavor but will also change this white dressing to a blue direction.

  10. This will then yield a thicker result.

  11. If the dressing becomes too thick, simply thin it out with a little water.
