  1. 1 cup rice flakes (poha)

  2. 1 litre milk

  3. 1/2 cup sugar

  4. 10 raisins

  5. 10-12 strands saffron

  6. 5 pistachios crushed coarsely

  7. 1/2 tsp. cardamom powder

  1. Wash the rice flakes with water

  2. Drain the water

  3. bring to boil the milk

  4. Add rice flakes

  5. Cook till the kheer is semi-solid (or preferred consistency is reached)

  6. Add sugar and stir till sugar dissolves

  7. Add remaining ingredients

  8. Serve hot
