  1. 1 lb radish , julienned

  2. 1 medium onion , julienned

  3. 2 tablespoons whole allspice

  4. 1/4 teaspoon whole cloves

  5. 1 teaspoon mustard seeds

  6. 1 cup white vinegar

  7. 3/4 cup sugar

  8. 1/2 teaspoon salt

  9. 3/4 cup water

  1. Combine radishes and onions. Set aside.

  2. Wrap allspice, cloves and mustard seeds in cheesecloth, and tie together. Place in saucepan with remaining ingredients.

  3. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, 10 minutes.

  4. Pour over vegetables and steep 15 minutes.

  5. Pour into a clean pint jar and let cool slightly.

  6. Cap and refrigerate.
