    2. 1 cup rye flour

    3. 1 cup rice flour

    4. 4 teaspoons baking powder

    5. 1/2 teaspoon salt

    6. 1 tablespoon corn syrup

    7. 1 cup milk

    8. 1 tablespoon shortening

    9. 1 egg

    1. Sift dry ingredients together.

    2. Mix in beaten egg, melted shortening, syrup, and milk.

    3. Do not beat.

    4. Bake in greased muffin tins for about 20 minutes in a moderate oven.
