  1. 3 Egg whites

  2. 1 1/2 cups 297g / 10oz Sugar

  3. 1 cup 237ml Applesauce, unsweetened

  4. 2 cups 125g / 4.4oz All-purpose flour

  5. 2 teaspoons 10ml Cinnamon

  6. 1 teaspoon 5ml Baking soda

  7. 1/4 teaspoon 1 1/3ml Salt

  8. 4 cups 948ml Tart apples - cored/ peeled/ slice

  9. (Mcintosh or Crispin) YOGURT GLAZE

  10. 1 1/2 cups 355ml Plain nonfat yogurt

  11. Or vanilla nonfat yogurt

  12. 3 tablespoons 45ml Brown sugar - or to taste

  13. 1 teaspoon 5ml Vanilla

  14. 1 teaspoon 5ml Lemon juice

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Beat egg whites until slightly foamy; add sugar, applesauce and vanilla. Combine flour, cinnamon, baking soda and salt in separate bowl; add to applesauce mixture. Spread apples in 13 x 9 inch pan or 9 inch round springform pan sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Spread batter over apples. Bake 35-40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean; cool on wire rack. Stir yogurt glaze ingredients until smooth. Spread over cooled cake.
