  1. 200g/7oz Shortcrust

  2. Pastry

  3. 400g/14 oz Mincemeat

  4. 450g/1lb

  5. Firm Pears

  6. 75g/3oz Caster

  7. Sugar

  8. 1/2 teasp

  9. Ground Mixed Spice

  10. 50g/2oz Butter

  11. 6 heaped tbsp Plain

  12. Flour

  1. Instructions 1. Preheatoven to 425F, 220C, Gas mark 7.

  2. Roll outthe pastry and line a 24cm/10 inch flan tin. Spread the mincemeat overthe pastry.

  3. Peel andslice the pears and mix with 50g/2oz of the sugar and the mixed spice .

  4. Arrange over the mincemeat.

  5. In a bowl,rub the butter into the flour until it resembles fine breadcrumbs then mix in the remaining sugarand sprinkle the mixture evenly over the pears.

  6. Place theflan on a baking tray and bake in the oven for 15 minutes. Reduce oven to 190C, 375F, Gas mark 5 and bake for a further 20 minutes. Servewarm or cold.
