  1. 1 cup Ice Water

  2. 1/2 teaspoon yellow Food Coloring -- optional

  3. 2 tablespoons Corn Oil

  4. 1 teaspoon Salt

  5. 1 cup Flour

  6. 1 teaspoon Baking Powder

  7. Combine water, food coloring, oil and salt. Gradually add flour, stirring rapidly with a whisk. Just before using, stir in baking powder. Dip fish fillets in batter and deep fry. This makes a very thick, crispy batter. The food coloring gives it a golden color.
