Coffee/Applesauce Cake

1 ts Cinnamon

1/3 c Shortening

1 Egg

1 ts Baking soda

1/2 ts Cloves

1 c Sugar

2 ts Instant coffee

1/2 ts Salt

1 c Applesauce --FROSTING--

1 ts Instant coffee granules

1/4 c Water; hot

1/4 c Butter

2 c Powdered sugar
