  1. 4 c. warm milk

  2. 3/4 c. canola oil

  3. 1/4 c. sugar

  4. 4 t. salt

  5. 2 T. instant yeast

  6. 3 c. whole wheat flour about 4-6 cups additional unbleached

  1. In large mixing bowl, stir together milk, oil, sugar and salt, then stir in the whole wheat flour. Sprinkle yeast on top and stir in. Add enough additional flour to make a dough that can be kneaded. Knead until smooth. Place in greased bowl, cover and let rise until double. Punch down. Take a section of dough (about a sixth of the batch, and with thumb and index finger, squeeze off a ball for the base, and a smaller one for the top. I make the tops about golf-ball size, and the bottoms a little bigger. Flatten the bottom a bit when putting it on baking sheet. Then add top, pressing it in a bit. Let rise. Bake in a 400 degree oven for 15 minutes or until nicely browned.
