  1. 1 cup quick-cooking oat , uncooked

  2. 1 cup sugar

  3. 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour , plus

  4. 1 teaspoon 1/4 teaspoon salt

  5. 1 egg , slightly beaten

  6. 1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine , melted

  7. 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  1. Combine oats, sugar, flour, and salt; mix well.

  2. Stir in remaining ingredients.

  3. Drop by 1/2 teaspoonfuls 3 inches apart onto aluminum foil-lined cookie sheets.

  4. Bake at 350 degrees F for 6 to 8 minutes or until edges are brown.

  5. Cool completely before removing. ?
