  1. 1 tablespoon 15ml Vegetable oil

  2. 1/4 cup 15g / 1/2oz Minced onion

  3. 1 tablespoon 15ml Minced garlic

  4. 1/3 cup 78ml Commercial yellow mustard - (like French's)

  5. 3 tablespoons 45ml Ketchup

  6. 2 tablespoons 30ml Light brown sugar

  7. 1/2 cup 118ml Distilled white vinegar

  8. 1/4 cup 59ml Water

  9. 2 teaspoons 10ml Lemon juice

  10. 1/8 teaspoon 0.6ml Ground black pepper

  11. 1/8 teaspoon 0.6ml Ground cayenne pepper

  12. 1 tablespoon 15ml Coarse salt

  1. Heat the vegetable oil over moderate heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook for 5 minutes, or until slightly soft.

  2. Add all the remaining ingredients, and simmer sauce, uncovered, for 20 minutes. (The sauce will thicken slightly.)
