  1. 2 1/2 lbs 1135g / 40oz Potatoes - peeled and quartered

  2. 1/2 cup 118ml Milk

  3. 1/4 cup 49g / 1.7oz Butter

  4. 1 tablespoon 15ml Fresh chopped basil or 1/2 teaspoon dried basil

  5. 1 teaspoon 5ml Onion powder

  6. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Garlic powder

  7. 1 teaspoon 5ml Salt

  8. 1/4 teaspoon 1 1/3ml Black pepper

  1. Place the potatoes in a large pot filled three quarters-full with water; cover and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook for 20 minutes, or until the potatoes are fork-tender. Drain and place in a large bowl. Add the remaining ingredients and mash with a fork or potato masher. Serve immediately.
