  7. 1/2 cup margarine

  8. 1 1/3 cups sugar

  9. 2 eggs

  10. 2 cups flour

  11. 1 teaspoon baking powder

  12. 1 teaspoon salt

  13. 1 cup milk

  14. 1 10 oz. jar strawberry or grape jelly

  15. **PEANUT BUTTER FROSTING**

  16. 1/4 cup margarine

  17. 1/4 cup peanut butter

  18. 1 teaspoon vanilla

  19. 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar

  20. 3 tablespoons milk

  21. Cream margarine and sugar until light and fluffy. Blend in peanut

  22. butter, eggs and vanilla. Add combined dry ingredients alternately with

  23. milk, mixing well after each addition. Pour into two greased and flour

  24. 8 or 9 inch layer pans. Bake at

  25. 35 to 40 minutes or until wooden

  26. pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes; remove from

  27. pans. Spread 2/3 cup preserves between layers. Frost with Peanut

  28. Butter Frosting. Decoratge with additional preserves. Frosting: Cream margarine. Blend in peanut butter, vanilla and salt. Add sugar alternately with milk, beating until light and fluffy. From: Best Recipes. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
