  1. 1 1/8 cups all-purpose flour

  2. 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  3. 1/2 teaspoon salt

  4. 1/2 cup white sugar

  5. 1/4 cup light brown sugar

  6. 1 egg

  7. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  8. 1/2 cup butter, softened

  9. 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

  10. 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F ( 190 degrees C). Sift together in a large bowl flour, baking soda and salt. To this add sugars, egg, vanilla extract and butter. Beat until smooth and well blended. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden colored. Cool on wire rack.
