  2. FARMER-STYLE SOUR CREAM BREAD

  6. 2 tb Warm water

  7. 2 tb Sugar

  8. 1 pk Active dry yeast

  9. 2 1/2 To 3 cups all-purpose flour

  10. 1 1/2 ts Salt

  11. 1/4 ts Baking soda

  12. 1 c Dairy sour cream, at room

  13. -temperature

  14. Vegetable oil

  15. 1 tb Sesame or poppy seeds,

  16. -optional

  17. Makes 1 loaf

  18. Directions: Combine water, sugar and yeast. Stir to

  19. dissolve yeast and let stand until bubbly, about 5

  20. Fit processor with steel blade. Measure 2 cups of the

  21. flour, salt and soda into work bowl. Process on/off

  22. to mix. Add yeast mixture to flour mixture. Process until

  23. blended, about 10 seconds.

  24. Spoon sour cream evenly over flour mixture. Turn on

  25. processor and add enough of the remaining flour

  26. through feed tube so dough forms a ball that cleans

  27. the sides of the bowl. Process until ball turns

  28. around bowl about 25 times.

  29. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface. Shape into a

  30. ball and place on greased cookie sheet. Flatten with

  31. hands into a circle about 8 inches in diameter. Brush

  32. dough with oil. Sprinkle sesame or poppy seeds over

  33. dough, if desired. Let stand in warm place until

  34. doubled, about 1 hour.

  35. 375 F. Bake until golden,

  36. 25 -

  37. minutes.

  38. Remove from cookie sheet. Cool on wire rack.
