  1. 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour

  2. 1 teaspoon baking soda

  3. 1 teaspoon salt

  4. 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

  5. 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

  6. 2 cups rolled oats

  7. 1/2 cup packed brown sugar

  8. 1/2 cup white sugar

  9. 1 cup shortening

  10. 2 eggs

  11. 1/3 cup milk

  12. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  13. 1 cup raisins

  1. Sift together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Add oatmeal, brown sugar, white sugar, shortening, eggs, milk, and vanilla. Mix together. Stir in 1 cup of chopped walnuts. Drop by teaspoonful onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 10 to 12 minutes.
