  1. 1 box chocolate cake mix (prepared as directed in 9x13 inch pan) 1 (8oz) package cream cheese (at room temp) 1/2 cup Crisco shortening powdered sugar (approx 4-5 cups)

  1. Bake cake as directed in 9x13 inch pan. Cool completely and cut in half the short way and then cut each section in half again. You will end up with four - 9 inch x 4 inch strips of cake. Cut each strip in half so you have 2 layers. Mix cream cheese and Crisco until combined. Add powdered sugar until it is the consistency of a very thick frosting. Spread ¼ of frosting mixture over one piece of cake and top with another piece. Wrap in foil and refrigerate until the frosting mixture firms, about 2 hours. Slice and serve.
