  2. 1 cup 62g / 2 1/5oz All-purpose flour

  3. 1/2 cup 80g / 2.8oz Packed brown sugar

  4. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Baking powder

  5. 1/4 teaspoon 1 1/3ml Baking soda

  6. 1/4 teaspoon 1 1/3ml Ground cardamom

  7. OR 1/8 tsp. Ground cloves

  8. 1/2 cup 118ml Apricot nectar or orange

  9. Juice

  10. 1/4 cup 59ml Unsweetened applesauce

  11. 2 tablespoons 30ml Cooking oil

  12. 1 Slightly beaten egg

  13. 1/2 cup 118ml Finely snipped dried apricots

  14. 1 Apricot icing

  15. Apricot Icing

  16. 1/2 cup 99g / 3 1/2oz Powdered sugar

  17. 2 teaspoons 10ml Apricot - up to three

  18. Nectar or orange juice

  1. In a medium mixing bowl stir together flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and cardamom or cloves; set aside. Stir together apricot nectar or orange juice, applesauce, oil, and egg until combined. Sit in the snipped apricots.

  2. Spread batter in an ungreased 11x7x1-1/2-inch baking pan. Bake in a 350F oven about 25 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool in pan on a wire rack. Drizzle with Apricot Icing. Cut into bars. Makes 24 bars.

  3. APRICOT ICING: In a small mixing bowl stir together 1/2 cup powdered sugar and 2 to 3 teaspoons apricot nectar or orange juice.
