  6. 4 Eggs

  7. 1 c Milk

  8. 2 tb Rum (opt)

  9. 2 ts Sugar

  10. pn Salt

  11. 1/2 ts Cinnamon

  12. Fresh grated nutmeg

  13. 8 sl Cinnamon raisin bread;

  14. - preferably a few days old

  15. Butter for frying

  16. Beat eggs in bowl and then beat in milk, rum, sugar, pinch of salt,

  17. cinnamon and a few gratings of nutmeg. Place bread on a jelly roll pan.

  18. Pour mix over slices and let stand for 30 minutes or so, preferably in

  19. refrigerator. Melt 2-3 tbls butter in large skillet. Fry soaked bread until

  20. golden brown on bottom. Turn and fry other side till it browns. Make syrup

  21. 1/2 cup maple syrup with

  22. 1/4 cup rum. --
