  1. 2 cups nonfat milk

  2. 1/4 cup sugar

  3. 1 tbsp cornstarch

  4. 1 egg

  5. 1 tsp vanilla extract

  1. Heat milk in a small saucepan on medium-low until simmering.

  2. Meanwhile whisk sugar and cornstarch together. Add egg, and whisk until no lumps remain. Add vanilla extract.

  3. Gradually stir in hot milk into egg mixture. Return milk and egg mixture to pan. Heat on medium, stirring constantly, until thickened.
