  1. 1 Pound ground beef

  2. 3 tb Finely chopped onions, If desired

  3. 3 tb Water

  4. 1/2ts Salt

  5. 1/4ts Pepper

  6. 4 Hamburger buns, split and toasted

  1. + Directions : Mix all ingredients except buns. Shape mixture into 4 patties, each about 3/4-inch thick. Set oven control to broil. Place patties on rack in broiler pan. Broil with tops about 3 inches from heat 5 to 7 minutes on each side for medium, turning once (160 degrees on meat thermometer). About 1 minute before hamburgers are done, top each with cheese slice if desired. Broil until cheese is melted. Serve on buns.

  2. SERVINGS; 395 CALORIES PER SERVING. To Grill: Grill patties about 4 inches from medium coals 7 to 8 minutes on each side for medium, turning once, until desired doneness. Brush barbecue or teriyaki sauce on patties before and after turning if desired. To Microwave: Arrange patties on microwavable rack in microwavable dish. Cover with waxed paper and microwave on high 6 to 7 minutes, for medium, rotating dish 1/2 turn after 3 minutes, until patties are almost done. Let stand covered 3 minutes. To Panfry: Cook patties in 10-inch skillet over medium heat about 10 minutes for medium, turning occasionally.
