  1. 1 1/2 cups Cornmeal

  2. 1 1/2 cups Boiling Water

  3. 2 Tbsp Melted Shortening

  4. 1/2 tsp Salt

  1. Sift together cornmeal and salt. Slowly pour water over cornmeal mixture. Add melted shortening and beat hard. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto hot greased griddle or skillet and cook to a golden brown.
