  8. 1 1/2 c Sugar

  9. 1/2 c Flour

  10. 3/4 c Margarine or butter -- soft

  11. 6 Eggs

  12. 8 oz Cream cheese -- softened

  13. 1 t Vanilla

  14. 1/8 ts Salt

  15. --TOPPING--

  16. 1/2 c Sugar

  17. 1/2 c Water

  18. 1/4 c Orange-flavored liqueur

  19. --GLAZE--

  20. 1 c Apricot preserves

  21. 1/4 c Sugar

  22. 10x4". Beat

  23. 1 1/2 cups sugar,

  24. 1/2 cups flour, margarine,

  25. eggs, cream cheese, vanilla and salt in large bowl on

  26. low speed, scraping bowl frequently, 30 seconds. Beat

  27. on medium speed scraping bowl occasionally 4 minutes.

  28. Pour batter into pan. Bake until wooden pick inserted

  29. 55-60 minutes. Cool

  30. minutes; remove from pan. Heat 1/2 cup sugar and the

  31. water to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer uncovered 2

  32. minutes; cool to lukewarm. Stir in liqueur. Slowly

  33. drizzle over cake. Press preserves thru sieve. Heat

  34. preserves and 1/4 cup sugar to boiling, sitrring

  35. constantly; reduce heat. Simmer uncovered until

  36. 1 to 2 minutes. Cool slightly;
