    9. Chives, cut into 4 cm sections; separate the white part from the green

    10. Ginger, sliced and shredded

    11. Garlic, chopped

    12. Red chili, seeded and chopped

    13. Fermented black beans, mashed

    14. Cornstarch, blended with 2 1/2 tablespoons water

    15. Oil, for cooking

    16. Cornstarch

    17. Baking soda

    18. Beef stock

    19. Soy sauce

    20. Sugar

    21. Pepper

    22. MSG

    23. Sesame oil
