  1. 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  3. 1 teaspoon baking powder

  4. 1/4 teaspoon baking soda

  5. 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom

  6. 1/3 cup cold butter

  7. 1 beaten egg

  8. 1/4 cup plain low-fat yogurt

  9. 3 tablespoons milk

  10. 4 cups blueberries Blueberry-Cardamom Syrup

  1. Grease a baking sheet; set aside. For shortcake drops, in a medium bowl stir together flour, the 2 tablespoons sugar, the baking powder, baking soda, and, if desired, cardamom. Using a pastry blender, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. In a small bowl combine egg, yogurt, and milk. Add to flour mixture, stirring just until moistened. Drop dough by a teaspoon into 1-inch mounds onto prepared baking sheet. Bake in a 400 oven about 10 minutes or until golden brown. Transfer shortcake drops to a wire rack; cool slightly. Divide shortcake drops and blueberries among 6 dessert dishes. Drizzle with Blueberry-Cardamom Syrup.
