  8. 94-- 8 oz Tempeh -- cut into 1 cubes

  9. 1 1/2 c Onion -- chopped

  10. 2 Garlic cloves -- minced

  11. 1 3/4 c Vegetable broth, or more if

  12. -needed

  13. 2 ts Fresh ginger root -- minced

  14. 3 c Mushrooms -- sliced

  15. 1 t Ground cumin

  16. 1 1/2 ts Chili powder

  17. 1/4 ts Ground cloves

  18. 2 c Navy beans -- cooked

  19. 1 c Green bell pepper -- chopped

  20. 1 c Red bell pepper -- chopped

  21. In large saucepan over medium heat, cook tempeh,

  22. onion and garlic in 1/2 cup vegetable broth, stirring

  23. occasionally, until onion is soft and liquid has

  24. evaporated, about 10 minutes.

  25. Mix in remaining 1 1/4 cup broth and remaining

  26. 15 to 20 minutes. Add additional

  27. broth as necessary. Serves 4.
