  2. 3 lb Short ribs

  3. 1 tb Vegetable oil

  4. 2 Garlic cloves

  5. 2 ts Chili powder

  6. 1 15 oz tomato sauce

  7. 1/2 ts Salt

  8. 1 t Pepper

  9. 1 Onion

  10. 2 Cans red kidney beans

  1. Put ribs in pot of boiling water, reduce heat andsimmer for 10 minutes. Remove ribs from water anddrain well to remove as much fat as possible. (Thiscan easily be done the evening before to save time inthe morning.) Brown ribs in hot oil. Remove, drainall but 1 tsp fat. Add chopped garlic, lightly brownin oil^^. Add chili powder, tomato sauce, bring tosimmer. (I do all of this the evening before to savemore time.) Sprinkle ribs with salt and pepper put incrockpot. Add sauce and sliced onion. Cover and slowcook 6 to 8 hours on low. Remove bones from pot, skimoff any visable fat. Add kidney beans, cover and cookon high one hour. Serve with cornbread.
