  1. 1/2 gallon Whole Milk

  2. 8 Egg Yolks

  3. 2 Egg s (whole)

  4. 1 cup Sugar

  5. Pinch Salt

  6. 1 Tbsp. Flour

  7. 3 Tbsp. Butter

  1. Put milk in heavy sauce pan on medium-low heat. Mix sugar, salt, and flour. Sift to get all lumps out. Add mixture to milk and stir well.

  2. Beat eggs together. Once milk has warmed (right before boiling point) add a cup of it to the eggs and mix well. Pour eggs back into the milk mixture. Cook on medium heat, stirring constantly, until the thickened mixture coats a metal spoon.

  3. Remove from heat. Add vanilla and butter and pour into individual serving bowls to cool.
