  2. 1 cup granulated sugar

  3. 1/3 cup corn syrup

  4. 2 tablespoons water

  5. Few grains salt

  6. 1/4 teaspoon vanilla

  7. 1 egg white

  1. Combine the corn syrup, sugar, water and salt and boil until it threads.

  2. Add the vanilla and pour gradually into the egg white which has been whipped stiff.

  3. Beat until thick, then set over hot water and cook about ten minutes, till firm around the edge.

  4. Beat till the mixture will hold its shape and spread on the cake.
