  1. Klejner (Norwegian Fried Twists)

  2. 4 dozen

  3. 2 whole eggs

  4. 2 egg yolks

  5. 3/4 cup sugar

  6. 3 cups flour

  7. 1/2 cup melted butter or margarine

  8. 1/2 cup light cream

  9. 1 t. baking powder oil for deep frying confectioner's sugar

  10. Beat whole eggs with egg yolks until thick and lemon-colored.

  11. Gradually beat in sugar. Stir in melted butter and cream. Sift 2

  12. cup flour with baking powder and stir into egg mixture. Then stir

  13. in enough additional flour so that dough cleans the bowl. Roll onto

  14. lightly floured surface until 1/8" thick. Cut into strips or diamonds

  15. 3-4 inches long and 1-1/2 inches wide. Cut a slit in center of each strip and pull one end completely through slit. Drop into deep fat

  16. (375 on frying thermometer) and fry 2-3 minutes, until golden brown

  17. on both sides. Drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with sifted

  18. confectioner's sugar.
