  1. SPLIT PEA SOUP C/P

  3. 6 md carrots, sliced

  4. 1 md onion, chopped

  5. 1 ham bone, cracked

  6. 1 1/2 qt water

  7. 1 c split peas

  8. 1 ts salt

  9. 1/2 ts accent

  10. 1/8 ts pepper

  11. 2 egg yolks, slightly beaten

  12. 1 tb sugar

  13. 1 c milk

  14. croutons

  15. This recipe requires a 5-qt. crockpot. For a smaller pot, halve

  16. the recipe but use the same slow-cooking times.

  17. Combine veggies, ham bone, water and seasonings in slow cooker.

  18. 4 hrs., then on LOW for 3-4 hrs. or on

  19. LOW for 9-10 hrs. Remove ham bone. Prepare and add egg yolks by

  20. vigorously stirring some hot soup into the slightly beaten yolks

  21. with the sugar added. Blend into the soup and cook on HIGH until

  22. 20 min.

  23. Serve with croutons.
