  1. 1 cup(s) yellow cornmeal

  2. 1 cup(s) sifted all-purpose flour

  3. 2 tablespoon(s) sugar

  4. 4 teaspoon(s) baking powder

  5. 1/2 teaspoon(s) salt

  6. 1 large egg

  7. 1 cup(s) whole milk or buttermilk

  8. 1/3333333333333 cup(s) sour cream

  9. 1/4 cup(s) vegetable oil

  10. 2 tablespoon(s) chopped jalapenos, or to taste

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

  2. Grease 8-inch square pan, cast iron skillet or cornbread mold.

  3. In medium bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.

  4. To dry mixture add egg, milk, sour cream, oil and jalapenos, and mix until smooth.

  5. Pour into prepared pan. Bake 20-25 minutes or until golden.
