4 c Cake flour; sifted

2 ts Baking powder

1/2 ts Salt

1/2 c Shortening

4 tb Sugar

1 ea Egg; beaten

1 c Milk Sift flour once, measure, add baking powder, salt, and sift again. Cream shortening, add sugar, cream together thoroughly. Combine egg and milk. Add flour to creamed butter and sugar, alternately with milk

425 F.
