    1. 1 box brown sugar

    2. 1 c. white sugar

    3. 1/2 lb. butter

    4. 1/2 c. Crisco

    5. 5 eggs

    6. 1 c. milk

    7. 3 c. flour

    8. 1 tsp. vanilla

    9. 1 tsp. baking powder

    10. 1 c. pecans or walnuts (chopped)

    1. Cream butter, Crisco and sugar. Add eggs one at a time. Add milk and vanilla alternating with sifted dry ingredients. Coat nuts with flour and fold in last. Bake in a tube pan at 325 degrees for 45 minutes. Reduce heat to 300 degrees and bake for 45 minutes more.
