  1. 1 package dry yeast

  2. 1/4 cup warm water

  3. 2 1/2 cups flour

  4. 1/4 cup sugar

  5. 3/4 teaspoon salt

  6. 1/2 cup butter

  7. 1 1/2 cup small curd cottage cheese

  8. 1 egg

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Mix flour, sugar and salt in large bowl. Cut in butter until consistency of coarse corn meal. Mix in cottage cheese, egg and yeast mixture. Form dough into ball and let rest 10 minutes.

  2. Roll dough into 12x15 rectangle pan. Sprinkle with walnut filling (**See notes) and roll up. Cut into 1 inch pieces and place on greased pan. Let rise in warm place until they double in size (about 1½ hours).

  3. Bake at 375° for 17 minutes or until light golden brown. Frost with powdered sugar glaze after baked.
