  1. 1 pkg.(8 oz) cream cheese, softened

  2. 1 (8 oz) container sour cream

  3. 1 pkg taco seasoning mix

  4. 1/2 small head lettuce, chopped

  5. 1 small sweet onion, chopped

  6. 2 large tomatoes, diced

  7. 1 jar mild or medium salsa

  8. 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  9. 1 cup shredded Monterey jack cheese

  1. Blend cream cheese with sour cream till smooth. Stir in taco seasoning mix. Spread mixture on bottom of a shallow glass dish. Layer with lettuce, onions and tomatoes. Pour salsa over tomatoes and carefully spread over entire mixture; sprinkle cheeses over salsa. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Serve with tortilla chips. For a spicier dip use "hot" salsa and jack cheese with hot peppers instead of the plain monterey jack cheese.
